Review for Snows Heat

Title: Snows Heat
Author:Nicole Hicks
Description:
When your husband declares you aren't enough after ten years, don't get mad… Get a Bic and start a bonfire!
When Sabrina’s husband decides to move on to greener, and freer pastures, she knows she has to move on herself. Wounded and alone, she escapes to a friend’s cabin to think about her future…and burn her past. Literally.
Can she rise from the ashes of her marriage a new woman, or did she lose too much trying to salvage an illusion? Dealing with the heartache of her new reality, she meets a mystery man in the backwoods. One that makes her burn with desire.
Once just a soldier, now Travis is something…more. His last tour changed him in more ways than one. Can he come to terms with what he is, while dealing with the mixture of lust and possessiveness Bree brings out in him? Or is her past too much for him to handle?

Summary: After  going through a divorce from a cheating husband, Bree decides to get away from it all to clear her head and find herself . Her reason for this was to let go of her past and make it better for her children when she returned. Travis, who once was a soldier, came up to the woods to be away from people, sees her, and thinks she is poaching on his territory. This was his place to deal with everything that had happened on his last deployment that still haunted him and the strange things happening to him from the animal attack.  Travis goes to warn Bree of a big cat in the area, but that doesn't scare her enough to leave. Soon she is starting up a bonfire to rid her of all things past to look to her future. Travis sees this and goes to her, not wanting Bree to be alone during this time. While
comforting Bree, watching the past turn to ash, gun shots ring out in the distance and Travis goes to check it out, placing a scorching kiss on her before he leaves. Soon, his leopard side as well as his human side decide she is all the woman he needs. And this kitty likes cougars and the cream this cougar can give him.

My thoughts: Nicole Hicks is a break out author, but this short story had me from the beginning. It had me feeling the pain and heartache in the beginning as well as the rising passion as Travis and Bree kissed. When they finally let their passions ignite, and their bodies talk, I was seeing fireworks in that connection. My only complaint is that it was a short story, and left me wanting more when it finally came to an end. Nicole did a wonderful job on a short story. I hope to see more of her stories in the future.

Note:This was a ARC the release is June 27th and then i will be adding the link to where you can purchase it
